I’ll be honest, I was skeptical of chaga when I first heard of it! Drinking a mushroom did not sound appealing to me and I had a fear it would taste bad!
However, my desire to actually buy some and sip it daily was because people close to me who drink it daily, shared the benefits of its immune support and levels of vitamin d.

This time of year it is important to be consuming proper supplements and also things like chaga to keep yourself protected and well!
Currently, my toddler is napping and I’m writing you this post as I am sipping my first cup of chaga today and every single time I drink it I think of all the amazing benefits it is offering my body.
Did you know chaga is small mushroom that grows on bark of birch trees from the very north?
Ok, a big question I get from people are “what does it taste like?”
My answer is…nothing really! It is earthy and mild.
What I have personally noticed is my body now craves a good mug of chaga, it’s soothing, and my go to time to sip it is during Noa’s afternoon nap with a chocolate chip cookie and before bed. It really just does magic within my body.
You can easily sip chaga tea on it’s own or add it to your coffee! It is dark like coffee when it is brewed.
Let’s talk about what the benefits of Chaga are and what you can get from this mushroom!
It is known as a superfood and is rich in vitamins and minerals. It is an anti-inflammatory and immune support.
It is said to slow the aging process and prevents and fights cancer. (you can read more on this site: alaskachaga.us)
The chaga mushroom is one of the most anti-oxidant rich foods and it is so powerful in our bodies to consume. Also, it contains beta glucans (which are also important for the health of your teeth!) and help your immune system by stimulating production and activities of the white blood cells.
I know this is all sounding quite sciencey, but let me share from my own shifts in my body since drinking chaga daily!
+ My skin has been very clear and even toned.
+ I haven’t even caught a cold in the past 2 years!
+ I had a couple sensitive teeth and they are no longer.
+ It absolutely supports digestion!
+ Oh! My skin used to be greasy and it’s not. So that’s a win!
Because chaga is high in vitamin d it is so important that you and your family consider either enjoying a mug of chaga a day or taking your vitamin d supplemts. I personally do both!
I will share the Chaga I personally consume and this is the Vitamin D I take!
The chaga mushroom is basking in the sun in the forest as it grows, so it really is picking up all the greatness of mother nature and allowing you to consume it. Get this! If you decide to brew up chunks of chaga, once you’ve reused them a few times you can charge your chaga in the sun and get it back to boiling! So cool.
I want to share with you the chaga tea that I personally drink and love!
- Harmonic Arts Concentrated Chaga Mushroom Powder
This powder is the simplest way to make and sip your mug of chaga. You can add a 1/4 tsp to a mug and add boiling water and that’s it!

Buy it here off Amazon and you will love sipping on a mug or two a day!
2. Harmonic Arts Chaga Tea Cut
Harmonic Arts also has a bag you can buy of the “tea cut” and they are granules of the chaga mushroom and you can steep them for 5 min to hours in your mug or pot and reuse the granules!
I personally love the experience of this with the granules in a tea steeper (or they can float in your mug) but the tea takes longer before you can drink it because it needs to steep!
I’ll link to the Harmonic Arts website so you can check it out here. I can’t find the “tea cut” on amazon for you…
3. Big Chaga Chunks!
A friend of ours gifted us some chaga chunks and this is really wild! You can keep a chunk of chaga warm in the slow cooker and keep taking mugfuls from the batch and just re-adding water! You literally don’t need to think about boiling a mug, it will be ready for you : )

My biggest question I had before I started drinking chaga was…
Is if it is safe to drink while breastfeeding??
Although I asked around to many people like a lactation consultant and the owners of chaga shops, I feel really connected listening to other moms who have asked the same and shared with me what they did….
Many women shared with me that they did indeed drink chaga while nursing and have for years.
As always, if you’re questioning anything like this yourself always feel into what feels most aligned for you!
They say not enough studies have been done on chaga and nursing mom’s, but as you will quickly get to know me here, I lean towards my intuition and God more than anything else!
My lactation consultant suggested that I start to drink it when Noa is ok to go with longer windows before feedings. That felt good to me and here we are.
I have 1-2 cups a day!
I say this with love, now is the time to really get to know natural ways to support your and your families wellness and I believe everyone needs to be on the chaga sipping game and have their home stocked with great supplements and essential oils! With all it’s benefits and more and more things we face in our world today, we need all the protection and support we can get, naturally!
I would love to hear from you! Do you drink chaga or are you ready to start??
xxoo
